What is NRECHPTA?

The NRECHPTA is affiliated with the National PTA and Ohio PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and is centered on parents with children age birth to 6 years (and expectant parents, too!). We are not affiliated with a specific school or religion. This PTA is for parents and caregivers who reside in the city of North Ridgeville and surrounding areas.

Mission of the PTA:

To support and speak on behalf of the children and youth in the schools, community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.

To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.

To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

What does each committee do?

Adult Outings

Plan activities for just the moms (and dads) in the group. This can be as simple as coordinating dinner, or more involved like a fitness class or craft night.

Children’s Parties

Plan our winter and end of the year parties. These parties are free to all members.

Community Service

Organize opportunities for our group to give back to the community through donations of time and goods. In the past we've chalked at the fire station, donated to community care or made crafts for nursing home residents.

Field Trips

Plan and facilitate field trips throughout the year.

Fundraising

Organize events to raise funds for our group. Past activities include Dine to Donate nights, candy bar sales, and Boo Buckets

Health and Welfare

Plan initiatives and activities aimed at the health/welfare of our members. In the past this has included a weight loss challenge, 100 hours outside goal, and more.

Kiddie Kloset

Help run our twice-a-year resale event, which is the PTA's biggest fundraiser

Membership

Greets and introduces new members at meetings, assists in distribution of flyers, and manages the list of new and renewing members.

Playgroups

Organize activities for our youngest members and their parents to get involved and meet new friends.

Publicity

Take photos at events to post on social media and Facebook; help publicize our fundraisers on social media and in local outlets

Sunshine

When one of our members is going through a challenging time (new baby, loss of a loved one, lengthy illness), this committee spreads some sunshine through a card, gift or meal train where appropriate

Website

Update the website throughout the year, ensure members have access, record volunteer hours
